Chocolate Cream Pie
1 pre cooked and cooled pie crust ( search pie crust recipe on this site)
2-1/2 cups milk (plus another 1/2 cup for blending the custard powder)
1/2 cup raw sugar
4 tablespoons custard powder
1 teaspoon cornflour/ cornstarch
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 cup dark chocolate chip
2 tablespoon butter
In a bowl, blend 1/2 cup of milk and the custard powder together and set aside
Meanwhile in a medium size sauce pan heat together milk and sugar until steaming stir in cocoa powder, add in custard mixture stirring briskly until mixture bubbles remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips and butter until blended, cover top of mixture with plastic to prevent skin from forming, set aside and let cool for 30 minutes. Spoon into prepared pie crust cover again with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge until completely cooled (2 to 3 hours) top with whip cream and serve….enjoy!
